The Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life collaborates with many campus partners to provide our fraternities and sororities with the resources to thrive on campus. Some of these resources include the OFSL Resource Manual, campus-wide policies and procedures, and academic resources for individual members and chapters.
All fraternities and sororities at UA must comply with all aspects of the Fraternity and Sorority Community Policy.
The OFSL Resource Manual contains information and resources for Greek leaders on campus including but not limited to campus policies and procedures, contact information, transition information, and advisor resources.
The OFSL Resource Manual is currently under construction. If you would like a updated version, please email ofsl@ua.edu.
Event Smart from The SOURCE is UA’s event training and registration program for student organizations. The process is designed to guide student organizations toward more successful events by utilizing policy, including the Social Event Guidelines and Student Organization Handbook, and connecting with administrators through the online event registration form. Event Smart Training is a mandatory workshop that educates student organization members about the online event registration form utilized to submit events for approval. Student organization members will not be able to register events until they have completed this training and received Event Smart certification for the current academic year.
For information on reservation policies for The University of Alabama Student Center, please visit General Reservation Guidelines. Online reservation form requests are preferred and can be submitted via Social Tables.
For reserving space in academic facilities, first view the Use of Academic Space Policy, which provides responsibilities and expectations of usage. To submit an event request form for academic space, visit schedule.ua.edu (please be aware that this website will only work when connected to campus servers). When reserving academic space through the Office of the University Registrar Academic Scheduling Department, click on the “Events” tab and then click on the “Event Request” link and select “Northlawn, Houser, Lloyd, Russell, Farrah…” from the drop-down menu.
All IFC fraternities wishing to request should contact Assistant Director of IFC, James Spry at hjspry@ua.edu
All other fraternities and sororities interested in participating in the Greek Study Hall program should contact the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life at ofsl@ua.edu.
Students and/or inter/national organizations interested in bringing a fraternity or sorority to The University of Alabama, should refer to the OFSL Extension Packet and Timeline and contact Kathleen Duffy with questions.
