The Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life, a department within the Division of Student Life, is dedicated to the growth and success of the Greek community and to the individual development of fraternity and sorority members. Specifically, the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life advises and provides guidance to the fraternities and sororities associated with the four Greek governing councils: the Alabama Panhellenic Association (APA), the Alabama National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC), the Alabama Interfraternity Council (IFC), and the Alabama United Greek Council (UGC).
Each council has a different focus, operational structure, history, recruitment or intake procedure, and key dates. Fraternities and sororities range in size from 6 to 452 members. Organizations offer members a variety of opportunities to:
